Legal Information and Company Details
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This page sets out the legal information, statutory disclosures and operating rules that apply to this website (the “Site”). It is published by the operator of the Site so that visitors, professional customers, suppliers, regulators and rights holders can identify who is responsible for the Site, understand the basis on which it may be used, and locate the separate policies that govern data protection, cookies, transactions and refunds. It is written in plain English, and it applies to every page, document and download made available through the Site unless a separate written contract says otherwise.
1. Identity of the website operator and our role
The Site is owned and operated by writevaxy. In this notice, “we”, “us” and “our” mean writevaxy in its capacity as operator and publisher of the Site, and “you” means any person who accesses or uses the Site.
We work in the live television and broadcast production sector. Our business activity is the supply, hire, sale and integration of professional audio, lighting, camera, video and studio equipment, together with the related technical services, engineering support, acoustic and lighting design advice, and production workflow planning used by broadcasters, studios, production companies, venues and live event organisers. The Site is the information arm of that business: it explains how a modern live production is assembled and kept on air, covering studio equipment integration and cabling, camera positions, movement and lens technique, room treatment and acoustic optimisation, lighting, rigging and power, and the production processes, redundancy and monitoring that keep news programmes, interviews, panel discussions and live shows reliable.
We publish the Site in our own name and on our own account. We are not acting as an agent, broker or representative of any other business when we publish content here, and nothing on the Site creates a partnership, joint venture, franchise, agency or employment relationship between us and any visitor, customer or third party.
Where the Site refers to manufacturers, brands, standards bodies, broadcasters, venues or training organisations, those references are made for identification and editorial purposes only. They do not imply sponsorship, approval, endorsement, affiliation or any commercial connection unless we say so expressly in writing.
2. Legal form, registration details and tax identifiers
writevaxy is a private company limited by shares, incorporated and registered in England and Wales. Its registered company number is 03555097 and its VAT registration number is 477222243.
Under the Companies Act 2006, and the Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, a company must disclose its registered name, the part of the United Kingdom in which it is registered, its registered number and the address of its registered office in specified places, including its websites and business correspondence. Under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, as they continue to apply in the United Kingdom, an information society service provider must also make its name, geographic address, email address and VAT number easily, directly and permanently accessible to the recipients of its service. The details on this page are published to meet those obligations.
Summary of the statutory disclosures:
- Registered name: writevaxy.
- Legal form: private company limited by shares.
- Place of registration: England and Wales.
- Company registration number: 03555097.
- VAT registration number: 477222243.
- Registered office: 4 Millbank, Westminster, London, SW1P 3JA, United Kingdom.
- Registrar: Companies House, Crown Way, Cardiff CF14 3UZ, which maintains the public register of the company's filings, accounts and officers.
- Tax authority: HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), which administers VAT and other taxes in the United Kingdom.
Company and VAT records are public documents. Anyone can verify our registration number, registered office, officers and filing history on the public register maintained by Companies House, and can check a VAT number using the validation service provided by HMRC. If you are entering into a hire, purchase, integration or service contract with us, you should rely on the written contract, purchase order and formal quotation rather than on any summary published on the Site.
Responsible representatives. The company's directors are its responsible officers for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006 and their details are recorded on the register at Companies House; the names of current directors are available to verified counterparties on request as part of normal due diligence. Day-to-day responsibility for the Site, for this notice and for regulatory compliance rests with the company's management team. Our privacy contact can be reached at info@iqstudios.co.uk for any question about personal data, and our registered office at 4 Millbank, Westminster, London, SW1P 3JA, United Kingdom is the address for formal service of documents.
Licences and authorisations. Publishing information on the Site does not itself require a licence. Where a customer needs a licence to use radio spectrum, to operate transmitting equipment, or to play recorded music in a studio, on a set or at an event, that licence is the customer's responsibility; we can point you towards the relevant body, such as Ofcom for spectrum matters or PPL PRS for music licensing, but we do not hold or administer those licences on your behalf. Our own activities are carried out under the general authorisations that apply to a United Kingdom equipment supplier and systems integrator, and any specialist safety, rigging or electrical certification relevant to a project is issued per project by the competent persons who carry out the work.
Where we use a trading or brand name that differs from the registered name given above, that name is used for identification only and does not create a separate legal entity, branch or partnership.
3. Registered office, contact routes and formal notices
Our registered office address in the United Kingdom is 4 Millbank, Westminster, London, SW1P 3JA, United Kingdom. Correspondence sent by post should be addressed to the company at that address. You can also reach us by email at info@iqstudios.co.uk or by telephone on +44 20 7799 3655.
The Site has a Contacts page with a contact form. Enquiries submitted through that form, by email or by telephone are handled during our normal working hours on business days in England, excluding public holidays. We aim to acknowledge enquiries promptly and to give a substantive reply once the relevant technical or commercial team has reviewed the request. Complex integration projects, tender responses, site surveys and equipment availability checks may take longer, and a reply is not a binding quotation unless it says so and is confirmed in writing.
Where a contract, these rules or any law requires you to give us notice formally — for example notice of a claim, a complaint about equipment, a request to cancel or reschedule a booking, or a data protection request — please send it in writing to the registered office address above, marked for the attention of the company secretary, and where possible follow it up by email to info@iqstudios.co.uk. Notice given only through a social media message, a chat window or a third party is not valid formal notice.
Please do not send confidential, sensitive or valuable material to any contact address, and never send passwords, bank details or payment card numbers by unencrypted email. If you believe you have received a suspicious message that appears to come from us, contact us using the details above before responding to it.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with the Site, with a quotation, or with equipment or services supplied by us, please tell us first by email to info@iqstudios.co.uk, describing the issue, the date it arose and any reference numbers. We will investigate and reply in writing. Raising a complaint does not affect any legal right you may have, including any right to bring a claim in court or to use an alternative dispute resolution provider.
4. Purpose, scope and intended audience of the Site
The Site is a professional knowledge hub for people who plan, build, operate or supply live television production facilities. Its purpose is to explain, in practical terms, how live production environments are assembled and run: how studio equipment is integrated, racked and cabled; how camera positions, movement, framing and lens choices affect the pictures; how rooms are treated, measured and calibrated so that speech and music sound natural; how lighting, rigging and power are planned for news desks, interviews, panels and live shows; and how production processes, redundancy, monitoring and talkback keep a programme on air when something goes wrong.
The Site is aimed at a professional and trade audience: broadcast engineers, technical directors, studio managers, lighting and sound designers, systems integrators, rental customers, production companies and students of broadcast technology. It is published in English and is intended for users in the United Kingdom and, where relevant, internationally.
The Site is not a consumer shop and is not directed at children. It does not provide personalised technical, safety, legal, tax, financial, structural or insurance advice, and nothing on it is a substitute for a site survey, a risk assessment, an inspection by a competent person, or advice from a qualified engineer, electrician, structural engineer or insurer for a specific installation. Specifications, ratings, standards references, prices and availability mentioned on the Site are indicative unless they are confirmed in a written quotation, order confirmation or contract.
5. Access to the Site and acceptable use
We provide the Site free of charge for information, reference and business enquiry purposes. Access is provided on a temporary basis, and we may change, suspend, withdraw or restrict any part of the Site, including the contact form, without notice, for example during maintenance or where we suspect misuse.
You are responsible for the equipment, software, network connection and security settings you use to reach the Site, and for making sure that anyone who accesses the Site through your connection complies with this notice.
What you may do
- Read, view and browse the pages of the Site.
- Print or save individual pages for your own internal professional reference, quotation preparation, tender responses or staff training.
- Quote short extracts from the Site in internal documents, provided the source is acknowledged and the meaning is not changed or presented out of context.
- Contact us through the Contacts page or the published contact routes to ask about equipment, hire availability, integration projects or technical services.
What you must not do
- Use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or harmful purpose, or in breach of any applicable export control, sanctions, anti-bribery or anti-money laundering law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its hosting environment or any connected system, or probe, scan or test its vulnerability without our written permission.
- Introduce viruses, malware, ransomware, denial-of-service traffic or any other harmful code or material.
- Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, crawl or systematically copy the Site or any substantial part of it, or to extract its content for training, benchmarking or building a competing product or database, without our prior written consent.
- Copy, reproduce, republish or commercially exploit the content of the Site, remove or obscure copyright and attribution notices, or present our content as your own.
- Frame, mirror or re-host the Site, or misrepresent your relationship with us, including by implying that we endorse your products, services or organisation.
- Upload or transmit material that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, harassing, or that infringes the rights of any person.
We reserve the right to block access, to report suspected criminal activity to law enforcement or to the National Cyber Security Centre, and to recover our losses from anyone who misuses the Site.
6. Intellectual property: content, trademarks and permitted use
All intellectual property rights in the Site, including copyright in text, technical explanations, diagrams, photographs of installations and equipment, layout, graphics and code, and database rights in any compilation of content, are owned by us or licensed to us. All rights are reserved.
Subject to the permitted uses described in section 5, no part of the Site may be reproduced, distributed, adapted, translated, stored in a retrieval system, transmitted, sold, licensed or used to create derivative works without our prior written permission. Systematic downloading or copying of any part of the Site is prohibited.
Trademarks, brand names, product names and logos appearing on the Site, including the names of manufacturers of cameras, lenses, mixing consoles, loudspeakers, luminaires, rigging and control systems, remain the property of their respective owners. References are made for identification and explanation only and do not imply any licence, sponsorship or endorsement. No trademark, logo or trade dress may be used in a way that is likely to cause confusion about the origin of goods or services, or that disparages or misrepresents the owner.
If you believe that content on the Site infringes your copyright, database right, trademark or any other right, please write to us at the registered office address or email info@iqstudios.co.uk with enough detail to identify the material, the right relied on and your authority to act. We will review the notice promptly and will remove or amend material where that is appropriate, without admitting liability.
7. Accuracy, availability and limits of liability
We prepare the content on the Site with reasonable care and keep it under review. Even so, the content is provided for general information only, on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that it is complete, current, accurate, error-free or suitable for any particular project, studio, venue or regulatory regime. Technical standards, product ranges, firmware and legislation change frequently, so always verify specifications against the manufacturer's current documentation and confirm the applicable legal requirements for your own installation.
We do not guarantee that the Site, or any part of it, will always be available, uninterrupted, timely or free from faults, viruses or other harmful components, and we may suspend access for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, business interruption, loss or corruption of data, and any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the use of, or inability to use, the Site or reliance on its content. Where information from the Site is incorporated into a contract, that contract and the applicable Terms and Conditions govern the transaction, and this legal notice does not add to or reduce the obligations set out in it.
Nothing in this notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 or section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 where those terms apply, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights, and any equipment or service we supply to you as a consumer is governed by the applicable consumer legislation rather than by any business-to-business term.
8. Equipment compliance, safety and environmental duties
Live production equipment is used in demanding technical and physical environments. We expect every person who uses equipment we supply to be competent, to follow the manufacturer's instructions, and to work within the applicable health and safety framework, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and, where lifting, trussing or rigging is involved, the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.
Electrical equipment supplied, sold or integrated by us is intended for professional use and must be installed, tested and maintained by competent persons in accordance with the current edition of BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations) and any applicable British or designated standards. Where required, equipment is marked in accordance with the United Kingdom product safety regime, including UKCA marking and, where still accepted, CE marking, together with the electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, radio equipment, machinery and restriction of hazardous substances requirements that apply to the specific product.
We take our environmental obligations seriously and support the reduction of waste from electrical and electronic equipment. In the United Kingdom, the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 place responsibilities on producers, distributors and users of electrical equipment; used lamps, batteries, ballasts, control gear and electronic components must be returned through the appropriate take-back scheme or an approved authorised treatment facility rather than disposed of with general waste. We can advise on take-back routes for equipment supplied by us and on the environmentally sound disposal of packaging and consumables.
Any content on the Site about acoustic treatment, loudspeaker calibration, rigging, power distribution, earthing or ventilation is general guidance for professional planning discussions. It does not replace structural calculations, an electrical installation certificate, a noise risk assessment under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, or an on-site survey carried out by a competent person.
9. Data protection, cookies, terms and payment policies
We handle personal data in accordance with the United Kingdom data protection framework, which includes the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, for electronic marketing and cookies, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is the United Kingdom's independent supervisory authority for data protection and can be contacted if you wish to complain about how your personal data has been handled.
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, and a cookie banner is displayed across the Site so that you can accept or manage non-essential cookies. Essential cookies are used to remember your choices and to keep the Site working securely; other cookies are used only with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing stored cookies in your browser or by changing your choice in the banner.
The following documents form part of the legal framework of the Site and should be read alongside this notice. They are published as separate pages of the Site:
- Privacy Policy — what personal data we collect, why we collect it, the lawful bases we rely on, how long we keep it, who we share it with, international transfers, and your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, together with how to exercise those rights and how to complain to the ICO.
- Cookie Policy — the categories of cookies used, their purposes, providers and durations, how consent is recorded, and how to control, block or delete cookies in your browser.
- Terms and Conditions — the contractual terms on which we hire, sell and integrate equipment and supply related services, including quotations, bookings, delivery and collection, risk and title, insurance, cancellation, force majeure, and the liability regime that applies to those contracts.
- Payment and Refund Policy — accepted payment methods, invoicing and credit terms, deposits, cancellation and rescheduling charges, charges for damage, loss or late return, and the circumstances in which refunds, credits or replacements are given.
Where there is a conflict between this legal notice and a signed contract, the signed contract prevails for that transaction. Where there is a conflict between this legal notice and the Privacy Policy on a data protection question, the Privacy Policy prevails.
10. External links and third-party content
The Site may refer to, or link to, websites, specifications, standards, platforms, tools, videos and resources operated by third parties. Those references are provided for convenience and context only. We do not control third-party sites, we do not review their content continuously, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, security, accuracy, legality or privacy practices.
Including a link does not mean that we endorse the third party, its products, its services or any statement made on its site, and it does not mean that the third party endorses us. If you follow a link, you leave the Site and become subject to the terms and policies of the destination site, including its cookie and privacy notices. You should satisfy yourself about any third party before relying on it or entering into a contract with it.
If you believe that a link on the Site is broken, misleading or points to unlawful or infringing material, please tell us using the contact details in section 3 and we will consider whether to remove or amend it.
11. Governing law, jurisdiction and dispute resolution
This legal notice, its subject matter and its formation, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or with the Site, are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this notice or the Site.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and nothing in this notice deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your place of residence. Business customers agree to bring claims in the courts of England and Wales.
Before starting court proceedings, we ask that you raise the matter with us in writing so that we can try to resolve it directly. Alternative dispute resolution is available in the United Kingdom for many types of commercial dispute, and either party may propose mediation or arbitration, although neither party is obliged to participate unless a separate contract requires it. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform is no longer available to users in the United Kingdom, but the ICO and other regulators remain available within their respective areas of responsibility.
12. Changes, enquiries and the date of this notice
We review this legal notice regularly to reflect changes in our business, the equipment and services we provide, the technology we use and the law. We may update, amend or replace it at any time by publishing a revised version on this page with a new last-updated date. Material changes will be drawn to your attention where we are required or reasonably able to do so. Your continued use of the Site after a revised version is published indicates your acceptance of the revised notice.
The version published on this page is the current version and supersedes all earlier versions. Where you need a signed and dated copy for a tender, procurement, insurance or compliance file, please request one in writing and we will provide it.
If you have questions about this notice, about our registration details, or about how to reach the right team, please use the Contacts page of the Site, email info@iqstudios.co.uk, telephone +44 20 7799 3655, or write to us at 4 Millbank, Westminster, London, SW1P 3JA, United Kingdom.
